Lauren J. Corey , CPA, CEBS

Lauren graduated from the University of Maine in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and joined the Firm in 1986 after being employed as a cost accountant at a large northern New England construction firm. She became licensed as a Certfied Public Accountant in Maine 1988 and a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) in 1999.

Lauren's areas of specialization are employee benefit plans and construction contractors. She is currently Chairperson of the Firm's ERISA and construction industry groups. She also is the Firm's designated AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center Director and a member of the Firm's Audit and Accounting Committee. Lauren is frequently engaged as a speaker for local and national organizations on employee benefits and construction accounting and taxation issues.

Lauren is a past president and current board member of the Maine Employee Benefits Council and Maine Better Transportation Association and past president and treasurer of the Southern Maine Institute of Management Accountants and Southern Maine Women in Construction, respectively. She also is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Association of General Contractors, Construction Financial Management Association, Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Lauren is currently a member of the Portland Area Youth Soccer Association Committee and the Portland Yacht Club. She enjoys sailing, traveling, camping and hiking with her family, and social gatherings with friends.
